Refer-A-Friend Program

 

Our Club J families are our best referrals. So we want to say thank you with a $100 tuition discount through our Refer-A-Friend Program.

 

To qualify, have your friend contact Pam Cotner at 813.962.4748 to enroll through the Refer-A-Friend Program using your name and students name for reference.

 

You will receive $100 for each family that registers. We will credit your account $100 per family enrollment once the child attends the program for 30 days.

Club J Afterschool Enrichment Program

 

Club J is a licensed after school enrichment program of the Tampa Jewish Community Centers & Federation. The program is offered at the Cohn Jewish Community Campus. Our program provides children from kindergarten through 5th grades an opportunity to have fun, learn new skills and to grow and develop in positive ways.

 

 

Club J provides a safe and nurturing environment where professional and experienced staff respect and value the diversity of each child. We offer excellent staff to children ratios, with every staff member having had a complete background check.

 

 

 

Upon arrival, your child will receive a healthy snack. Our staff will escort your child to and from the classes they are registered in during program hours. In addition, your children will spend time in our supervised homework room with qualified staff providing assistance when needed.

Licensing

The Club J program is licensed by the Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing Office. This ensures that we meet minimum health and safety requirements established by Hillsborough County and the State of Florida. Our license number is #SHC110461.

Weather Alerts

If the county schools are closed because of weather conditions, Club J will also be closed. TV and radio will inform the public.

 

Fire & Tornado Drills

Fire drills are conducted once a month and tornado drills four times each year.

Scholarships

For those families that may need scholarship or fee adjustments, limited financial assistance may be available. Scholarships are available for Tampa JCC Preschool, Club J Enrichment Program, and Camp JCC. Transportation

Transportation for your child is currently provided from the following elementary schools:
(minimum registration of four children per school, per location is required)
Citrus Park, Essrig, Mary Bryant, McKitrick, Hammond, Deer Park, Westchase, Carrollwood
Parent drop-off is welcome.

Please email us in the morning if your child will not be attending the program that afternoon.

Withdrawals

 

If for any reason, a decision is made to withdraw a child from the Club J Program, notification must be made in writing to Pam Cotner. Such notification must be received at least 30 days in advance of the effective withdrawal date. During the thirty day notice period, tuition and membership fees are due and payable to the JCC. 

Temporary Situation

Parents, please notify the school and the Club J program if you plan to be out of town, if either parent is hospitalized, or if there is any other emergency or changed situation. This information should include who will be responsible for the child, who we should contact in an emergency, carpool changes, etc. This information also enables us to effectively help your child since home disruptions may affect him/her at the program.

 

Communications

Should you have any questions or concerns, we are always available to meet with you. Parents will be provided important information via letters/flyers, email and phone.

 

Pick Up Changes and Policies

If there is ever any change in your child’s pick up procedure, please send an email with the person’s name and dates this change will be in effect. Also, be sure your child is informed of this change. Please reserve any last minute changes to bona fide emergencies. You can help your child by helping us keep dismissal time free of confusion. No child will ever be allowed to leave the JCC with anyone but the parents or designated carpool person, or person listed on your emergency medical registration form without written permission. We will check ID when necessary. This policy is for your child’s safety and your family’s protection.

 

If at any time you need to get your child before 5:00 pm you will need to pick them up from their designated enrichment class.

 

We appreciate the fact that there can be times that might occur that you may be late picking up your child.  Please call the desk to let us know if this situation arises.  There will be a $1.00 per minute late fee charged to your account for pick up after 6:00 pm.  Late charges will appear on you JCC account and must be paid in full with you monthly charges.

After School Enrichment Activities

 Participants in the Club J after school program choose from a complete menu of social and physical enrichment classes.

Mondays

 

#1 JCC Chess Club! Learn everything you wanted to know and more about the game of kings, and join the ranks of thousands of young players across the world. Our lessons will cover the basics of how the pieces move and interact with each other. It will also cover more advanced tactics identifying and countering an opponent’s strategies and power moves guaranteed to improve your   level of skill. Our instructor has been teaching students of all ages and abilities for years, and will create a customized learning schedule for your child to ensure they learn the game and come away with a greater sense of the importance of planning and critical thinking skills.

 

 

#2 Totally Art: Totally Art Tampa is about letting your inner artist shine and unleashing your creative energies through the multi- faceted areas of visual arts! Through engaging curriculum, we teach art skills, help students observe and interpret the world around them, encourage individual creativity, and provide the opportunity to learn about many forms of ART. Our program is drawing-based and focuses on growing self-esteem, confidence and creativity in each individual artist. By encouraging a “mistake-free”  environment, students use their imagination to take a problem and turn it into a triumph. Our motto is “mess it up, dress it up!”

Tuesdays

 

#1 Bricks 4 Kidz: Bricks 4 Kidz shows you a whole new way to create with LEGO® bricks! From pythons that slither and walking gorillas, to ferris wheels that spin and sailing pirate ships, our motorized models bring LEGO® bricks to life! But the fun doesn’t stop there…how about building 3-D LEGO® mosaic art, spinning tops that battle in their own arena, optical illusions and even brain- teasers and building challenges ALL with LEGO® bricks!?! Anything is possible in a Bricks 4 Kidz class…DON’T MISS THE FUN!!! MOTORIZED LEGOS and MOSAIC LEGO ART (K-5th grade).

Supply Fee: $15 Supply Fee is For LEGO Art project on last day of class kids.

 

 

#2 Zumba® Kids classes Join Ms. Cindy in a kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. We break down the steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure.

 

Wednesdays

 

#1 Super Sports! Allows children of all skill levels a chance to learn or improve in a variety of different sports, both individually and as a team. Each week we will focus on a different skill and incorporate it into fun games. Some sports we will cover include: Basketball, Football, Baseball, field hockey and Soccer as our team sports, as well as Tennis, Golf and Frisbee for individual skill development.

 

 

#2 The Show on the Road - Join us for a class packed with singing, acting and dancing! Students begin with developing audition skills and repertoire, and continue to study character and script analysis, using songs and scenes from classical musical theatre. The course concludes with an in-class performance of scenes and songs.

Thursdays

 

#1 Basketball: Our Basketball enrichment program will offer kids a chance to participate in a fun filled curriculum designed to improve basic and advanced skills, and work on concepts such as teamwork and sportsmanship. This program is designed for all skill levels and we will work on developing and maintaining their confidence in playing one of the most popular sports in the world.

 

 

#2 Kids Yoga: Our classes are fun Yoga classes. Our instructors will take the kids through a series of yoga poses all the while trying to teach them to connect with themselves and their peers through games, songs, and movement. In addition to building strength and flexibility, children will also learn how to develop focus, concentration and confidence.
